Our Clinical Services Team offers services to children and families referred to us for suspected sexual abuse, physical abuse, serious neglect, exposure to drug endangerment, domestic violence, or other traumatic events. We provide assessments, follow-up family services, and referrals to local resources to set the child and non-offending caregivers on the path to healing. Students interested in social work, education, non-profits, psychology, or healthcare may find this an especially good fit.
Responsibilities Include:
Introducing families and children to Juliette’s House and the assessment process.
Providing support and education to parents regarding the process of child abuse assessments.
Assisting caregivers with Crime Victim Compensation forms and process.
Supervising children and teens during the assessment process.
Working with family advocates, forensic interviewers and medical examiners to facilitate assessments.
Assisting in organizing medical charts.
Requirements:
Must at least be a junior in college.
Submit a letter of recommendation from a professor or academic advisor.
Must complete approximately 40 hours of training, which includes Mandatory Reporting, Karly’s Law, Victim Advocacy, and HIPAA.
An Ideal Candidate is:
Confident and comfortable communicating with diverse populations
Flexible and able to multitask well
Tech savvy
Assessment Schedule:
We are scheduling assessments Monday through Thursday. We offer two slots per day, one at 8:30am and one at 1:00pm. Assessments typically take 3-4 hours. It is required that an intern be able to participate in the full assessment – meaning they are available from 8:00am to 1:00pm or 12:00pm to 5:00pm during one of those days. We do not offer assessments on Friday except during emergency situations.

Juliette’s House is a nationally accredited nonprofit child abuse intervention center serving Yamhill County. Our prevention team provides education for both adults and children on how to recognize, respond to, and report child abuse. We offer developmentally appropriate lessons in schools (pre-K through high school) and engage with community partners to promote child safety and wellbeing.
This internship is ideal for students with an interest in education, social work, psychology, sociology, anthropology, English, or public health who are looking to gain experience in child advocacy, prevention work, and community outreach. Other majors are welcome to apply.
Responsibilities:
Assist with classroom presentations for pre-K to 5th grade students and/or teen audiences in local schools.
Support presentations and engage with students in the classroom.
Create space for students who may want to talk with a trusted adult.
Help with data entry, scheduling, and follow-up emails after presentations.
Work always paired with a staff member (interns do not work alone).
Attend biweekly team meetings (every other Tuesday).
Assist in preparing materials and supporting the daily functions of the prevention team.
Requirements:
Must have a college sophomore standing or above.

Must pass a criminal background check.
Must complete trainings on: Erin’s Law, mandatory reporting, trauma informed care, and HIPAA.
An Ideal Candidate is:
Comfortable speaking to groups of children or teens.
Able to write clear and professional emails.
Organized, adaptable, and able to work independently once trained.
Familiar with Microsoft Office.
Must have a reliable transportation to travel to different schools within Yamhill County.
