April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month, and it’s a powerful opportunity to turn care into action. Throughout the month, we offer meaningful ways to learn, participate, and show your commitment to keeping children safe—from community activities to creative and family-friendly events. Every action, big or small, helps build a safer, more hopeful future for children.

Preventing abuse is a shared responsibility

Each April, during National Child Abuse Prevention Month, Juliette’s House leads a community-wide effort to raise awareness, educate families, and inspire action to protect children from abuse and neglect. Throughout the month, we partner with schools, businesses, civic groups, and community members to promote prevention-focused messaging, provide educational resources, and encourage conversations about child safety and healing.

Activities often include awareness campaigns, community events, advocacy initiatives, family support outreach, and opportunities for the public to engage in creating safer, healthier environments where children can thrive.

  • Throughout Yamhill County, we invite restaurants, grocery stores, and other businesses to support our work through special products and locations hosting one of our special Blue Bear Banks!

  • Safer Together is a 90-minute, in-person child abuse prevention training we offer all year, but twice during April for adults who want to learn how to recognize, report, and help prevent abuse.

    Designed for parents, youth-serving organizations, and community members, the training covers the prevalence of child abuse, warning signs, reporting responsibilities, and practical prevention strategies. Participants can engage through anonymous QR-code responses and optional small-group discussion at their comfort level.

  • Each year, a limited-edition t-shirt designed by an area elementary student celebrating hope, creativity, and the power of young voices. Wear it proudly and help spread the message all month long.

  • We'll wrap up the month-long activities with our annual fundraising auction, Celebrate the Children. All proceeds from these events support child abuse intervention, prevention education, and healing services.
