Juliette’s House is committed to protecting the privacy of all visitors to our website and those we serve. As a Child Abuse Intervention Center (CAIC) and provider of trauma recovery services, Juliette’s House complies with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). This includes safeguarding "protected health information" (PHI), which refers to any information about a client’s physical or mental health, treatment history, or payment details that can be used to identify them.
We use and disclose PHI for purposes of treatment, payment, and health care operations, as permitted by law. We do not share PHI without your explicit written consent unless required or permitted by law (e.g., in cases of mandated reporting, emergencies, or law enforcement inquiries).
Under Oregon law, youth age 14 and older may consent to outpatient mental health or substance use services (ORS 109.675), and youth age 15 and older may consent to medical, dental, hospital, or surgical care (ORS 109.640) without parent or guardian permission. Juliette’s House respects the confidentiality of youth who access services under these laws and limits information sharing as permitted or required by law.
